It’s a trip to the Nation’s Capitol for Angel City FC this weekend. A month after losing in controversial fashion, ACFC are back in action against Washington Spirit. This time on the road, Los Angeles looks to snap their three-match losing streak and start building some momentum as the start of the World Cup draws ever closer.

The last time these two met was just about a month ago, in Los Angeles. The home side did incredibly well to keep the potent Spirit attack at bay. Paige Nielsen had a match to remember, but the most talked about moment came at the expense of Angel City. In the final moments, a controversial hand-ball call was affirmed via VAR, giving the Spirit a last-chance strike for the win. As expected, they converted, sending LA home heartbroken. Now, the team is on the road, and have someone they didn’t have last time out, Sydney Leroux. While the team needs a win far more than the vengeance, it would be nice to pull off the 2 for 1.
