Of course its Seattle. After a long and grueling run of matches that has seen the team drop points in a big loss and grind-a-thon of a draw, LAFC will now close out the MLS play before the summer break with a match against Western Conference rivals Seattle Sounders. There’s always more to it than just a match whenever these two meet and this time is no different with Los Angeles wanting to avoid limping into break, but rather finishing strong and preferably atop the West with a win.

Swimming in form
Seattle are right now, where LAFC were just a few weeks ago, minus all the fanfare and mainstream attention. They are currently riding an eight match unbeaten run, with just one draw in that span. Most impressively, they have only allowed two goals in their last five matches. Jordan Morris leads their side with nine goals, while Albert Rusnak and Ruidiaz pull the strings and serve as the engines that make their attack go. Seattle currently sit in sixth, but are just seven points off Los Angeles, and will undoubtedly be looking for another three points tonight.
Familiar foe
The Sounders aren’t strangers for LAFC. Since coming into the league, some of the club’s biggest moments were against Seattle. Just last year, these two met in the postseason on top of the now countless matches throughout the season and various competitions they find themselves in. “I think its a very even game” said LAFC Head Coach Steve Cherundolo when speaking ahead of tonight’s match. “What they particularly do we, we also do well. What we have that may be a little different, is some serious threat in transition. It’s always been something we’ve counted on against Seattle, so expect some of that.”
How to Watch
The match is set to kickoff at 7:30pm PT from Lumen Field in Seattle, Wa. The broadcast can be seen on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Those looking for the radio broadcast can find it on 710 ESPN LA, as well as the ESPN LA App for English and 980 AM La Mera Mera for Spanish.
