There are just two more league matches for Angel City FC before the NWSL takes a pause for the Summer Olympic Games starting in just a couple of weeks. While the team will still keep themselves fresh with competition in the Summer Cup during the over month-long pause to league play, the next two matches provide a chance to go into the second half of the season with some confidence.

Firing on all cylinders
As we hit the halfway point in the season, two teams have done a great job of separating themselves from the rest of the league. One of those teams, is Orlando Pride. Sitting second in the NWSL, Orlando come into Los Angeles riding an astonishing 15 match unbeaten run, having won three of their last five. Fresh off a 6-0 win over Utah Royals, the Pride will be looking to keep pace at the top of the league at Angel City’s expense. While you need to keep tabs on everyone in purple, the two assassins for the Pride are up top in legendary Marta, and Barbra Banda who has come into the NWSL setting it ablaze.
Tough, not impossible
While all that may seem bleak, there is great news. Angel City have already gotten a result off Orlando this season, and they did so while on the road. Now, Angel City get the comforts of home with the fans behind them to help push them to the same result, and possibly even better. Tonight’s match marks one of two matches Angel City will have to close up league play ahead of the Olympics, so its incredibly important to take advantage of this opportunity. Keeping pace with those around you is critical as some around the league start to get some separation. The biggest key for Angel City will be defensively. Not necessarily needing to park a bus, they will need to focus early, on not conceding for as long as possible while they do their best to catch the visitors on a counter.
How to Watch
Tonight’s match is set for 4:30pm PT kickoff from BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, Ca. The match will be broadcast live on Ballys Sports West for those locally. It can also be streamed live on NWSL+ for those outside of Los Angeles as well as International fans. There will also be an English-language radio broadcast over on iHeart Radio. As well as a Spanish-language radio broadcast on 980 La Mera Mera.
