It’s another short turnaround for LAFC, who have some midweek madness on tap for this evening. The black & gold are fresh off an impressive win, and back at home as they host Sporting KC. Tonight’s match is the first in a three-match homestand for LAFC, who had a pretty successful road trip, the only hiccup, suffering their first MLS loss of 2023. Speaking of firsts, tonight is also the first time these two teams meet this season.

Both sides are coming off big wins, with Sporting KC overtaking Minnesota United at home 3-0, while LAFC got an 0-3 win of their, on the road against Real Salt Lake. That is where similarities between these two end in 2023. SKC are trying to claw their way out from the bottom of the conference, while LAFC are focused on retaking their spot atop the West. The home side have the edge in recent matchups, having won the last three meetings between the two by a combined score of 9-1. However, as we all know, soccer is strange and LAFC are in the midst of another compacted stretch. Tonight will be the second match of what will be four matches in 10 days for the defending champions. Though, with the team back at home, chances of an upset being pulled off in this one are slim.
