Just a handful of matches in the MLS regular season remain for LAFC, as they once again hit the road for a brief trip away from home. The two-match road stand kicks off against the always pesky San Jose Earthquakes. It’s been over a year since the last time Los Angeles made the trip to the Bay Area to take on their Western Conference foes, with their last trip not going as well as they would have liked.

San Jose come into this match with som added motivation outside of just playing spoiler. They currently occupy the last postseason slot, with just a two point cushion. A loss at home to LAFC, would be a pretty significant blow to their postseason push, with just a few games left in their season. They also have a pretty incredible streak going, not having drawn or lost to LAFC, at home, since 2019. That said, their last time out at home was also their last win over LAFC in their recent matches. Form is a mixed bag, with two wins and three losses in their last five. Josef Martinez, Preston Judd and former LAFC star, Chicho Arango lead the three-headed attack for San Jose, as they look to snap the skid against the black & gold, now that they are back at home.
LAFC are coming off their first loss after a seven match unbeaten run that saw them start to get a lot better form going, with their last loss surprisingly, at home to the best team in the West currently. While LAFC haven’t beaten Earthquakes at their house since 2019, it’s been all black & gold in their last four meetings away from Northern California. In their last four outings, LAFC has won by a combined scoreline of 15-5. That said, spooky things happen when the team hit the road, and with the season winding down, as they look to better their postseason position, they will need to get back to winning ways immediately. The team are in the midst of a bit of an injury crisis with a fair amount of players on the injured list, but they still have Denis Bouanga and newly acquired Son Heung-Min leading the frontline, and as long as you have them, you can overcome any obstacle.
