He’s back! The young defender who hit the ground running, making an immediate impact for the black & gold not just with his stout defense, but ability to climb the ladder and score goals, is back in Los Angeles. Mamadou Fall is set to make his triumphant return to LAFC, after completing his loan with La Liga side, Villarreal FC.
It’s the middle of summer but Fall is here.

During a nearly 12-month loan period with Villarreal CF, Mamadou made 25 appearances (22 starts) and registered three goals in 1,988 minutes for Villarreal B. Mamadou also made two appearances for Villarreal’s senior squad, including his lone appearance in the Copa Del Rey  vs. St. Amalian on Nov. 12 , 2022 and his La Liga debut with Villareal during the 1-0 win vs. Girona on Jan. 22, 2023.
Fall joined LAFC at the age of 18 on June 4, 2021, from Montverde Academy in Orlando, FL.  The Senegal native appeared in a total of 35 regular season matches for the Black & Gold (29 starts) over two seasons, scoring five goals. In 2022, Fall made 16 regular season appearances (13 starts) and scored one goal before departing for Villareal.
In fairness, the defense hasn’t been the issue for LAFC, it’s been the scoring. So Fall coming in may not seem like immediate help, but what he brings aside from his incredible defense and outstanding scoring ability, is his passion. He is one of those players that oozes passion, determination, and having played in LA before, he knows just what the fans want. Fall will likely make his return officially, tonight against the San Jose Earthquakes. While you may not want to break out the Pumpkin Spice just yet, you can still enjoy Fall szn in the middle of July.
