Tonight is a very special night in Los Angeles. Angel City FC love a good theme night, and tonight is one of the biggest they have ever had. For the first time ever, the team will celebrate Disney Princess Night. The only real problem, is that they will be playing host to one of the better teams in the league, Washington Spirit. Tonight may be one of celebration and great vibes, but the most important thing are three points up for grabs. Especially with Angel City sitting on the bubble of the playoffs.
The magic starts early today! Join us this afternoon for our Disney Princess Theme Match 🪽

After a scorching return to action that saw Washington win five of six matches upon returning from summer break, Spirit travel to Los Angeles currently nursing a two match losing streak. Spirit will be a bit shorthanded, with several players set to miss tonight for the visitors. They will, however, still have one of the most talented players on the planet, Trinity Rodman, leading the attack on the wings. Washington will be looking to get back on track in this series, unable to get a result in the two meetings last season, with their last win over ACFC, coming in 2024.
Angel City also started off hot when they returned, not just with three wins, but those wins came in clean sheet fashion. Then they came tumbling back to earth with a loss at home, followed by two draws but really the bigger issue, are the performances not being anywhere near the standard expected of this club. The Disney magic should be flowing tonight as whispers of not one, but two very special returns could be in the cards for Los Angeles, which could only add to what should be an electric atmosphere for the home side. The team remains with Sveindís Jónsdóttir and midfielder Maiara Niehues, but one very big name is no longer on the injury list, and that is defender Savy King, who will be a very welcome addition to the squad when she returns from injury.
