Some major news out of Los Angeles today, and we aren’t going to sugarcoat it, this one definitely hurts. Much like the departure of Alyssa Thompson a year ago, fans will be saying farewell to a rising young talent. Angel City FC announced today they have reached an agreement with Bay FC to trade midfielder Kennedy Fuller along with a 2026 International Roster Spot, to the northern rivals. In exchange, Angel City will receive $500k in intra-league transfer funds, along with $20k in allocation money.

βI want to thank Angel City for taking chances on young players and giving me the opportunity to become a professional here,β said Fuller in a statement. βI am so grateful for my teammates who created such a great environment and took me under their wing. It has helped me be the best version of myself on and off the field. I also want to thank the Angel City staff for supporting me every day. And of course, the Angel City fans, who have made this feel like home. This community is inspiring and I have loved getting to know so many of them since I started. I am excited for this next opportunity and will always be grateful for what this club has done for me and for the sport.β
βIt has been a pleasure to witness Kennedy’s development as a player and as a professional over the last few years. We appreciate her contributions to our club and wish her all the best as she takes on the next chapter in her career,β said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons in a statement.
Fuller signed with the club on March 6, 2024, through the NWSL U-18 Entry Mechanism. As the second-youngest player to sign in Angel City history, behind Casey Phair, Fuller reached her 50th club appearance on April 26, 2026, against the Portland Thorns. This season, Fuller scored two goals, including one in ACFCs home opener against Chicago Stars FC and another against Kansas City Current, while also adding two assists. She scored her first career NWSL regular-season goal against Racing Louisville FC on June 19, 2024.
Fuller came into the season excited to not only grow as a player, but as a leader, and despite having to take on new responsibilities with the team in a new position, she still contributed well to a team that has struggled as of late. Understandably, fans are upset, as Fuller wasn’t just a favorite among them, but because this feels like deja vu. Last season the team sold another promising young talent in Alyssa Thompson, who has been thriving in England with Chelsea FC, and now we watch as another young promising star is sent away from the club, this time to a rival within the league. With one player leaving, and an injection of cash coming in, the question now is, who will Angel City bring in to help bolster a squad that is still within reach of a postseason with half the season left to play.
