It’s double announcement day for Angel City FC today, as the club make yet another move. This time, the team has added some depth to their goalkeeper union, as the club announced today the signing of goalkeeper Faith Nguyen out of Texas Tech. The youngster joins Los Angeles on a six-month contract, officially becoming the third goalkeeper on the roster.

“Angel City has always been a dream of mine, especially being from Southern California and playing for UCLA,” said Nguyen in a statement. “The club represents purpose, community, and using the game to make a real difference, which I absolutely love. It’s amazing to know not just the soccer aspect of putting on that jersey, but what wearing that crest represents. I’m so excited by the opportunity to absolutely compete at the highest level and contribute to a team whose ceiling is still being discovered in more ways than one. LA has a special place in my heart!”
“We are excited to welcome Faith to Angel City,” said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons in a statement. “When Faith trained with us last summer, she impressed our staff. She is hungry, a great teammate, and will bring a strong work ethic to our goalkeeper union. This is a Southern California homecoming for her and we are looking forward to having her as part of the roster.”
Nguyen arrives in Los Angeles after a phenomenal two season career with Texas Tech. She logged just under 3,700 minutes on 41 appearances where she made a whopping 127 saves coming away with a stunning 78% career save percentage. She recorded 19 clean sheets, putting her fifth in program history, and in just two seasons at Tech, finished 10th all-time in saves. Nguyen is no stranger to the club either, having spent the summer of 2025 training with Angel City FC ahead of today’s signing, so she has first-hand experience of what it not only takes to be an NWSL goalkeeper, but what the club are looking for at the position.
Prior to transferring to Texas Tech, Nguyen began her collegiate career at UCLA (2021–23), where she was part of the Bruins’ 2022 NCAA National Championship team, which defeated the University of North Carolina 3–2 in double overtime. She was also a member of UCLA’s 2021 and 2023 Pac-12 Championship teams. Much like the other young prospects Angel City have brought in, Nguyen arrives with plenty of accolades and a championship mindset that, the club hope, will permeate through the rest of the roster as they embark on a very important 2026.
