Angel City FC look to go into the weekend with a few more questions answered as they continue to finalize their roster ahead of the, now upcoming, new season. After announcing the re-signing of defender Elizabeth Eddy yesterday, the team today announced a new contract for another defender. 2022 Iron Woman defender, Megan Reid, has signed a new contract with Angel City to keep her with the LA side through 2025.
¡Vamos, Megan Reid!

“I’m excited to continue my career with ACFC. I’m looking forward to another great season,” said Reid in a statement. “I can’t wait to be in front of the best fans in the league and get started with an amazing group of women. Let’s get after it!”
“We’re happy to have Megan back with us as another force to anchor our back line,” stated ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano in a statement. “She provides depth in addition to a level of experience after Angel City’s first season as an Iron Woman.”
Since joining ACFC, Reid has accumulated 2,774 minutes in 31 total matches. In 2023, she compiled 12 interceptions and nine tackles in 15 total matches while battling an injury. In the club’s inaugural season, she played in every minute of every match, making history as ACFC’s first-ever Iron Woman. Prior to her time with the club, Reid briefly played for FC Thisted, a team in Denmark’s top professional division, before trying out with San Diego Wave FC.
Much like the re-signing of Sarah Gorden, keeping a player like Reid in an Angel City kit is massive for the team as they look to keep the core of the 2023 playoff team, in tact. The former Iron Woman has already proven her ability to step into the starting role when called upon. Rotation has been a point of contention for ACFC, so having players like Reid stay, hopefully gives Tweed and her staff some confidence in resting some of the other players on the squad from time to time.
