Goalkeeper Hannah Seabert was one of several players who were brought into Angel City FC in the middle of the season. The native of Southern California was signed in May, but wasn’t available for action until a month later, when her contract ended at the end of June. Her arrival not only boosted the goalkeeper room, providing a solid and very experienced backup to Angelina Anderson, but the arrival of Seabert also provided competition for that number one spot. While we only saw her a handful of times this season, it was clear pretty quickly that she was a great fit for what new head coach Alex Straus wanted tactically.
What a game for Hannah Seabert!!! This early match deflection has earned tonight’s Save of the Match!

Seabert made four appearances for Angel City this past season, helping the team stay alive in the playoff race with a 2-1-1 (W-D-L) record in those appearances. She started all her outings, playing a full 90 in each match. She conceded just four goals, with three of those concessions coming in a single match, the lone loss 3-1 to eventual NWSL Champions, Gotham FC. Seabert logged 360 minutes, kept two clean sheets, averaged a 7.18 rating according to FotMob, and tallied 14 saves in her short time on the pitch in 2025.
Seabert was brought in not only to provide depth to the position, but was brought in with a real chance to win the GK1 role down the line. As far as experience goes, Seabert has it in buckets. She enjoyed spells in Denmark, Norway, and Portugal. Her last stop, Sporitng CP, saw her help lead the team to a 2022 Portugal Cup, 2024 Portugal Super Cup title, and in her last season she earned Captain honors for Sporting before departing for Los Angeles. Tactically, Seabert seemed to fit exactly what Straus wanted in a keeper. She is great at the sweeper-keeper role, more than capable with the ball at her feet providing passes out the back and unafraid to come off her line and out of the box when needed.
It will be interesting to see how her offseason goes this winter, as there is a real chance we see Seabert earn a chance at the starting role come the beginning of the 2026 campaign. The sample size in 2025, while small, showed us all that she is more than capable between the posts at keeping goals out, and with her European experience, knows how to play with the ball at her feet. Watch this space because it appears we have a bit of a goalkeeper competition on our hands going into next season.
