Summer break is over and NWSL is officially back! For the first time in over a month, Angel City will be back in action as the league resumes play after the short intermission. In case you’ve spent the last month off the grid, things will look drastically different for Los Angeles as they get set for the second half of the season. The club hired a new Chief Executive Officer, they traded rising star midfielder, Kennedy Fuller, to Bay FC, they traded for, and subsequently signed an extension with, USWNT midfielder Ally Sentnor, oh and they also parted ways with head coach Alex Straus, as assistant Leif Smerud takes the helm as interim head coach.

The team return to NWSL action playing host to Orlando Pride, as they look to kickstart a strong second half of the season. The Pride were cruising through the California teams before the break, winning their last two matches against SD Wave and Bay FC. Orlando sit in the final playoff spot and will be looking to strengthen that position. They do come into Los Angeles having lost their visit last season, and this time around will be without superstar forward Barbra Banda (Thigh), as they restart the season shorthanded.
For the second straight season, Angel City FC will start the summer off with changes. Last year it was the arrival of new head coach Alex Straus, and this summer, the team has parted ways with the Norwegian as the club once again look headed for a bit of a rebuild. They will have a new arrival to welcome this evening as USWNT midfielder Ally Sentnor is available and likely to make her Los Angeles Debut. The team went into the break having lost three of their last five matches, dropping their final two before the time off. This match is about once again trying to set the tone for the remainder of the season. The team are currently in 12th place, but aren’t far off the playoff line points-wise. That said, they will need to take advantage of a shorthanded Orlando side, and help put minds at ease with a win at home.
