It feels like we have said this a few times early on this season, but Angel City FC are set for another big test. On paper, this will be their toughest yet, as they hit the road to take on Orlando Pride. Los Angeles will put their hot start to the season up against a team that knows a lot about going from one of the worst teams in the league, to being one of the consistent contenders for the NWSL championship. You get the sense there are plenty of people just waiting for that proverbial shoe to drop for Angel City, as they’ve opened up the season with three straight wins, but tonight, they look to continue to prove that this isn’t a fluke or a blip, but who they are now.

If we told you during the offseason that when this match happened, one team would be undefeated and the other would be struggling to find some consistency with just one win through four matches, you would undoubtedly expect Los Angeles to be the latter. However, it’s the Pride who are searching for their second win of the year after settling for two draws, a win and a loss to start their 2026 campaign. Even with the ‘bad’ form early on, Orlando have only conceded twice and still have players that have individually begun to hit their stride. Striker Barbra Banda leads the team with three goals to her tally, while forward Jacqueline Ovalle has served up two assists and found the back of the net once herself. Those two are absolutely the players Angel City will need to keep in check if they are to have any hopes of extending the win streak to four matches.
In addition to keeping the Orlando attack at arm’s length, Angel City will need to see their own attack continue to thrive if they are to come away with three points. So far, the team has been able to stay aggressive, putting pressure on the opposition before eventually finding the back of the net. Even in their thrilling comeback against Houston, they never wavered and had a second half that saw them score two in the span of just a few minutes. While Orlando may have some potent weapons going forward, they are vulnerable at the back, so there will be chances to score if they can continue to find themselves in the attacking third often.
How To Watch
A win tonight would provide a huge injection of confidence and really solidify the early season statement Angel City are already making. Kickoff is set for 5pm PST from Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The match will be broadcast live and can be streamed on Amazon Prime. The match can also be heard via iHeartRadio (ENG), as well as KWKW La Primera 1330 AM(SPA).
