To say there is a lot happening in Los Angeles at the moment, would be an understatement. With all the recent raids, protests, Angel City FC will try and do their part to find a bit of joy, and provide any relief they can as they take the pitch this evening. It is perhaps as poetic as it gets that this week’s opponents are North Carolina Courage. Courage, the one thing permeating throughout the city of Los Angeles at the moment. Tonight is more than just a match in more ways than one, with the club also celebrating Juneteenth tonight. With dark clouds all around, Angel City look to provide some joy in the form of beautiful football, and hopefully, keep football heritage alive with another three points at the expense of North Carolina in Los Angeles.

It’s a battle of mid-table sides this evening as North Carolina make the familiar trip to Los Angeles to try and secure their first-ever road result against Angel City. Courage come into this win having lost their last two outings by a combined 8-3 scoreline, as they have had an inconsistent stretch as of late. North Carolina will be looking to get out from the bottom half of the standings with a win tonight, something they have not been able to do since Angel City arrived in the NWSL.
This will be the seventh meeting between the two sides, with LA holding the advantage, while Courage have just a single win (from the inaugural 2022 season) over Angel City. In the previous three meetings in Los Angeles, the home side came away as winners, all three times with a scoreline of 2-1. More importantly for Angel City, this will be the second match for new Head Coach Alex Straus, who will have finally had the entire team with him for a full week of training. With NWSL competition, the events going on in the city, and across the Nation, this is definitely a “out of the frying pan, into the fire” for the new man in charge after his arrival from Germany.
How To Watch
Kickoff for tonight’s meeting is set for 7:00pm PT from BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. The match will be broadcast live and can be streamed on ION for those in the USA, and NWSL+ for International fans. The match will also be broadcast live via radio, which can be heard with iHeartRadio while Spanish-language broadcasts can be heard on AM980 KFWB.
