Well, this is the endgame now. With just four matches left in the NWSL regular season, Angel City FC need to take full advantage of the next three matches at home if they want to keep their ever dwindling playoff hopes alive. As it stands, the club are seven points off the postseason line, and are getting set to welcome the leagues newest Shield winners, Kansas City Current. The silver lining, of the last four matches left in the season, Angel City get the next three at home where they have proven time and time again, they can create magic and pull off the improbable.

Kansas City come into this one having proven without a shadow of any doubt, that they are clearly the best team in the league right now. They are in the middle of a 15 match unbeaten run, with only two draws during that span. Their last loss was way back in early May, when they were on the road to the always tough, Seattle Reign. The long unbeaten run also includes their win over Angel City earlier in the year, though that match was as tough for them as any during this run. While KC has already locked up the Shield and the top spot in the table, they don’t appear to be slowing down, and will come in to Los Angeles looking to keep their run going.
Angel City come into this one, struggling, to say the least. Once just a single point off from the playoff line before selling their best player in attack, the team has, unsurprisingly, struggled to keep pace in the race. That said, it’s not over until the math stops mathing and right now, there is still a chance, however slim it may seem. KC’s biggest attacking threat, Temwa Chawinga, will be missing from action tonight with an apparent knee injury. That said, the team will still have to make sure to watch for Michelle Cooper, Debinha, and Beatriz but if ever there was a time to catch KC, it’s at home with them missing a player like Temwa.
