All eyes might be on the men’s 2026 FIFA World Cup happening right in our backyard over the course of the next month, and the NWSL might be on a month-long break, but that doesn’t mean the work stops, especially for Angel City FC. The club announced today they have signed goalkeeper Faith Nguyen to a contract extension that will keep her in Los Angeles throughout the remainder of the 2026 NWSL season.
📰 #AngelCityFC has extended goalkeeper Faith Nguyen’s contract through the end of 2026. The rookie was signed to a six-month contract in January 2026.

“I am so excited to be continuing my journey with Angel City for the rest of the year,” said Nguyen in a statement. “These first six months have been nothing short of an absolute dream, and I cannot wait to continue to grow alongside my teammates, staff, and supporters for the rest of my first season. This club genuinely brings out the best in me every day, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of this year has in store for this team. There is no place I’d rather be.”
“We are very happy that Faith has extended her contract with our club,” said Mark Parsons, ACFC Sporting Director, in a statement. “Faith brings a fantastic work ethic and has been a welcome addition to our goalkeeper unit.” Faith continues to develop and brings very important qualities to our team culture.”
Faith joined Angel City FC as one of several highly touted collegiate players that arrived at the club ahead of the 2026 campaign. Nguyen arrived fresh off a standout finish to her two-year career with Texas Tech, after beginning her collegiate career in UCLA (2021-2023), before transferring to the Red Raiders. With Texas Tech Nguyen 41 appearances, she logged 3,693 minutes, posting a 27-7-7 record with 127 saves and a .789 career save percentage. Nguyen recorded 19 clean sheets, the fifth-most in program history, and finished 10th all-time in saves in just two seasons. Prior to joining Angel City, Nguyen trained with the club during the summer of 2025, gaining valuable professional experience.
While we have yet to see Nguyen take the pitch for the team in 2026, what she brings to training day in and day out, on top of the experience she has with the club having trained with them all summer in 2025, went a long way in the decision to keep her with the club beyond the original short-term, six month, contract signed at the start of the year. It’s also a bit of a boost for some of the other young players on the team still looking to breakthrough for some playing time, it’s not always about the minutes played during a match, but about what you do outside of the 90 minutes on a match day.
