With International break now wrapped up, it’s time to return for the final weekend of the 2025 NWSL Regular Season. It’s Decision Day and while there are still playoff spots to decide, as well as positioning to be determined, its a pretty simple affair for Angel City FC who saw their playoff hopes evaporate prior to kickoff the last time out. For Los Angeles, today is about finishing the season strong and putting together a performance that they can build on as they head into the offseason to prepare for next season.
One last time 🖤

Chicago Stars come into this match just hoping they too put on a performance that gives them even the slightest bit of hope for next season. They have won just two matches all season, with their last win coming in early September. Ludmila will be the player to watch for the Angel City defense, as the Brazilian leads the charge with 10 goals, by far the most on the team. With playoffs not in the cards and sitting at the bottom of the table, Chicago will be desperate to finish the year with a win in front of their home crowd.
Angel City, while not as bad as their opponents, are in the same boat. While the chances were slim, they did officially lose out on any playoff hopes last time out, following it up with a tough loss in their last home match of the season. It’s been a very roller coaster season for Los Angeles, as they never really did find their consistency or hit their stride. They come into today having lost three of their last five, with a win and draw thrown into that span. While the results haven’t been there, for the most part the last couple of months the team has looked a lot more sure of who they want to be. Now, they look to close out the regular season and build on that identity on the road against the league’s worst Chicago Stars. Coming away with three points would be fantastic, but putting on a show and finishing the season with a big win would be a statement of intent going into 2026.
