The NWSL regular season may be coming to an end in just a few matches, but the work to improve the squad is never-ending, at least for Angel City FC. The club announced today they have acquired Zambian International forward, Prisca Chilufya as well as a 2025 International Roster Spot via trade with Orlando Pride in exchange for $50k in intra-league transfer funds.

“I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to join Angel City,” said Chilufya in a statement. “I feel as though I greatly align with the mission of the club and its core values, and can’t wait to contribute on and off the pitch. In addition, the culture here in LA is amazing and I admire the relationship that the club has built with the city. Volemos ACFC!”
“We are very happy to welcome Prisca to Angel City”, said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons in a statement. “Prisca is a very dynamic forward who works hard with and without the ball to create and score goals. We believe Prisca can help us finish the season strong. We look forward to the impact she will have in the coming years.”
Chilufya joined the Orlando Pride in January 2025 after a move from Juarez FC. During her time with Juarez in Liga MX Femenil, Chilufya scored 14 goals in 48 appearances. She has played 16 matches in the NWSL so far this season and has scored two goals, most recently a late equalizer against the Utah Royals, back in August. This is a move that will hopefully see Chilufya revitalize her NWSL career, as she had not been part of the match day squad for Orlando in five of their last seven matches. Prior to joining FC Juarez, Chilufya had a stint with Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk and helped Tomris Turan with the Kazakh Women’s Championship in 2022-2023. She scored 14 goals in 18 appearances for Tomris Turan, two of which were in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
For Angel City, this is both a move that could really be the spark in attack they need to push them into what would be a very improbable playoff run this season, but it also appears to be a move for the next couple of years as they look to find the right pieces to put together a complete, competitive, puzzle moving forward. With just three matches remaining in the regular season, expect to see Prisca get minutes immediately as she looks to settle in with her new club.
